Uninvited

A new day awakens from its deep sleep
Eyes open to the coming dawn
Yawns fill the light air
Arms stretch outwards

The morning has come again

But breaking glass and shattered dreams
Bring only darkness to the soul
Hate and lies become our worst enemies
And once noble friends become damned souls

Damned souls
Consume and decay our world
